Android Studio 2.1 Release Candidate is now available in the canary, dev and beta channels. This build fixes a couple of important bugs reported in beta 3. The main feature in 2.1 is support for Android N preview; other than that, the release is nearly identical to the 2.0 stable release from a couple of weeks ago, but with a few extra bug fixes and some tweaks to Instant Run performance.
Installation You can update your current 2.0 or 2.1 Preview installation to 2.1 RC via the built-in patch mechanism (Check for Updates). You can also update from 1.5 to 2.1 RC via the patch mechanism, but you may not want to do that: See our page about how to keep multiple installations simultaneously while Studio is in preview mode. You can also download a full zip of 2.1 RC from the Android Studio RC page.
Problems? If you run into problems, be sure to check the Known Issues page which we'll update as necessary. |
